Hydrocarbon Dealmaker act as the inland trader for Shell Turkey and is responsible for developing fuel purchase and sale contracts and developing new supply & trading options. Develops strategic hydrocarbon position, monitors product exposure, manages spot/term deals and tenders, drive new business development opportunities. HCDM will act as a BOM for business development projects if and when required.
This position is part of the Shell & Turcas JV Trading & Supply Team and located in Turkey
Accountabilities
HCDM is required to manage an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders such as traders, refineries, other distribution companies, entire CO team, BD communities and Supply Operations. The incumbent must:
• Structure annual HC supply strategy together with CO Team
• Negotiate and seal supply deals for STAS’ annual ULSD and Mogas shorts. Unluck targeted value generation (in NIAT level) via deals with local refineries, regional traders and other 3rd parties.
• Support CO for LPG and Jet contract negotiations.
• Negotiate and seal HC purchase and sale deals for spot requirements such as DFA inaccuaracy and price exposure mangement
• Support CO team for overall price exposure management, i.e physical hedging, cargo date revisions, and potential paper market deals
• Trade CSO tickets inline with CO strategy. Support overall CSO strategy via securing short/long term HC deals.
• Play an active part in the planning process, contributing with regional market, supplier intellegence, product flows competitive analysis
• Support market price study with competition analysis
• Actively seek new business development opportunities in/out Turkey for all product lines. Connect with Shell Trading desks and BD units for pursuing joint opporuntities. Act as a BOM in assigned projects
• Support Shell Trading BD for Turkey related projects. Act as a Trading BD Liason in Turkey. Act as a local BOM in designated projects.
• Support Supply Chain BD Lead role for footprint optimization projects when required (ie. start/end/revise HC deals inline with terminal footprint re-structuring)

T&S Supply is responsible to make fuel products in the portfolio available throughout the country while optimising cost and working capital; and increasing competitiveness and optionality of Shell’s supply chain with a focus on exposure management.

• 3 STAS terminals, 5 JV terminals, 5 OSP terminals
• 5 refineries
• ~ 5.5 mln tons/year AGO
• ~ 0.8 mln tons/year MOGAS
• ~ 2 mln tons/year AGO and 0.1 mln/year MOGAS sales
Special Challenges
Supply environment is often dynamic and fast moving. HCDM should be able to respond quickly and accurately to challenging and sometimes conflicting priorities to drive desired commercial results.
The ability to deal with competing priorities while keeping composure is essential to success in dealing with internal and external customers. We are looking for those willing to work to deadlines in a lively, fast-moving, frequently changing environment where commercial mindset, external focus, stakeholder management and team player skills are important.
This is a commercial role that requires incumbent to be contactable outside office hours to execute pressing commercial negotiations or resolve unplanned operational issues. In case of unplanned activities work pressure can be significant.
