Job Description:
The Channel & Risk Optimization Team, composed of 4 team members: 1 Channel and Risk Optimizer-Main Fuels, 1 Channel and Risk Optimizer-LPG, 1 Channel and Risk Optimizer-Biofuels, 1 Logistic Deal Maker
The Channel & Risk Optimization Team plays a central role within T&S, being responsible for the short- and long-term planning and optimization of all product supply chains, as well as the execution of day-to-day operations. The currently handled products are AGO, MOGAS, LPG, FO, and Biofuels.
In full compliance with Shell HSSE standards and Turkish legislation (including D2D CSO requirements), the Channel & Risk Optimization Team ensures supply feasibility while maintaining minimum operational cost and maximum efficiency. The Channel & Risk Optimization Team is also responsible for managing working capital and price exposure across the entire product portfolio.
While ensuring accuracy and timeliness of supply, the Channel & Risk Optimization Team aims to maximize value from product supply chains by leveraging contractual volume and pricing optionality, market opportunities, and supply flexibilities within the chain.
Acting as a central interface between refiners, traders, terminals, RTS, and Marketing CoBs, the Channel & Risk Optimization Team assesses the best available supply options across channels and allocates volumes accordingly, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders, while considering legal, fiscal, logistical, and strategic constraints.
This requires continuous collaboration and communication with HCDM, TSO, and Marketing CoBs, as well as external partners (e.g., Tüpraş, STAR, STR, STASCO, and other companies), with a strong focus on bottom-line value creation.
In addition, the Channel & Risk Optimization Team manages one of the largest contract portfolios within STAS, covering HC contracts (LPG, Biofuels, MOGAS, and local AGO; as well as operated import AGO), OSP contracts (~40 locations), time charter contracts, rail contracts, and inspection and surveying contracts.
The Channel & Risk Optimization Manager is responsible for this scope and leads the team in achieving its objectives.
