GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 

As a Quality & Food Safety Lead in Mobility HSSE team we would like to work with a candidate;

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• 5–10+ years of experience in quality assurance and food safety within the food, FMCG, or Retail sectors.

• Strong knowledge of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) such as: ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, BRCGS / IFS standards. Ability to ensure compliance and maintain certification status.

• Understanding of regulatory requirements (local and international food laws, e.g., FDA, EU regulations).

• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).

• Experience in Risk assessment and hazard analysis, Root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, Causal reasoning), Internal and external audits, Supplier quality management

• Ability to analyse data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong leadership and coordination skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities 

• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving mindset 

• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively

• Eager and open to self-development and learning,

• Advance level of English language skills in terms of speaking, writing and understanding


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality & Food Safety Lead is responsible for establishing and leading a centralized, standardized, and risk-based Quality & Food Safety management system across the Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) value chain.

This role ensures consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and food safety across suppliers, sub-suppliers, and site-level operations, supporting sustainable business growth and protecting brand reputation.

Key Accountabilities

1. Food Safety & Quality Governance

• Establish and maintain end-to-end ownership of Food Safety and Quality across the entire value chain (suppliers → distribution/logistic → Mobility sites). 

• Develop and implement standardized policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with industry standards and Shell requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all local regulations and global food safety standards.

2. Risk-Based Management & Compliance

• Implement a risk-based Food Safety Management System (FSMS) across the network. 

• Identify, assess, and mitigate food safety and quality risks proactively.

• Monitor performance through KPIs and ensure visibility of compliance and risk areas.

3. Supplier & Value Chain Management

• Build and manage a robust supplier quality governance framework, including high risk sub-suppliers. 

• Lead supplier audits, performance evaluations, and corrective action follow-ups.

• Strengthen supplier accountability, especially in root cause analysis and incident prevention.

4. Audit & Inspection Framework

• Design and implement structured audit and inspection programs across suppliers and Mobility sites. 

• Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.

• Drive continuous improvement in audit outcomes and compliance levels.

5. Mobility Site Execution & Dealer/Retailer Engagement

• Improve food safety and quality practices across all Mobility (CO&DO) sites

• Develop training and capability-building programs for SAS & CAT teams and Retailers/Dealers.

• Ensure consistent execution of standards across all locations.

6. Customer Experience & Complaint Management

• Analyse customer complaints and identify systemic issues.

• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to reduce recurrence.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

7. Continuous Improvement & Performance Management

• Drive initiatives to reduce complaints, improve compliance, and enhance product quality. 

• Establish dashboards and reporting systems for performance tracking.

• Lead cross-functional improvement projects.

8. Stakeholder & Change Management

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (NFR, CP, Operations, Sales teams).

• Manage relationships with suppliers, auditors, and regulatory bodies if needed.

• Lead change management during implementation of new systems and standards.
