Job Description:
Site Accounting Team Lead will be part of the SPAS Finance team leading daily accounting and finance operations at site and transaction level for CO sites including the implementation of the new projects, site opening/closing and Retailer changes.
Position description - Purpose
CO network has thrived significantly as a strategic lever to support Turkey’s growth agenda and reached to 85 sites that operates in 8 different cities. This rapid growth increased the need for implementing a sustainable financial control framework and tracking the finance/accounting processes at site level.
Turkey’s RBA model deviates from the standard RBA model in many aspects and one of the main difference is that the ownership of dry stock at sites belong to Shell in Turkey’s RBA model (first implementer of MBA model globally in Shell). Furthermore, SPAS is a non-GSAP OU and uses two different ERP systems that interact with each other at site-level, ie. Promaks as Back-Office-System at sites and Logo as the main ERP at Headoffice. Existence of non-standard systems & processes requires reinforced financial controls.
Site Accounting Team Lead is a pivotal role in SPAS Finance organization. This role is expected to implement a risk-based financial and operational control framework at CO sites and execute all the aspects of the daily accounting cycle accordingly including cash collection, credit card reconciliations, Fuel & CR purchase transactions and cycle counts, etc.
In addition, this role is very critical in delivery of CO and NFR growth strategy. As the majority of the NFR profitability stems from CO network, this role is of utmost importance for the delivery of new NFR projects and initiatives in SPAS especially supporting system requirements at site level.
Position description - Accountabilities
Site Accounting Transactions:
Lead accounting and finance aspects of all daily transactions at site level including
• Coordinate and control all back-office operations at transaction and site level.
• Ensure fuel, lubs and CR invoices are booked precisely and timely.
• Price checks for the CR purchase invoices and ensure prompt action in case of any variances such as price corrections, issuing price difference invoices, etc.
• Handle all the reconciliations between automation, Z-reports, back-office system and ERP (Logo) and taking immediate action in case of inconsistency.
• Track and report Retailers’ staff-related payables to SPAS.
• Lead CR cycle count processes at sites including calculation of stock loss charges to Retailers.
Growth & Change Management:
In close collaboration with Business and Finance teams, support new CO site openings, site transfers from CO to DO, RBA changes from finance and accounting perspective
Governance & Compliance:
• Support to Retail Site Assurance Advisors and close out all audit actions timely and accurately in the area of responsibility.
• Enhance compliance culture and control mindset across Site Accounting team.
• Ensure a proper Financial Control Framework is in place for all tasks and activities.
• Conduct scheduled and unannounced site audits in order to protect the company’s interests, identify compliance and training issues and assess business controls
Build and maintain effective relationships:
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with the functions, subsidiary, Sales & Ops teams.
• Establish effective working relationships with third parties (Turpak, Birleşik Ödeme, Bantas, Saymod etc.)
Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence:
• Look for and implement continuous improvement and automation opportunities for systems like Promaks, Logo and processes
• Support new projects (Finance & Business) that were triggered to provide significant bottom-line impact to the company
Functional Leadership:
• Lead, train and develop a team of 4 HO accountants and 50 site accountants and support FM for the delivery of the relevant tasks and responsibilities with her/his team.

Shell Petrol A.S (SPAS), a subsidiary of the JvCo (Shell & Turcas) in Turkey, operates the CO network under RBA operating platform. Currently there are 85 sites in SPAS and all of them are being operated under RBA platform.
SPAS is a very dynamic company that aims to maximize value through on-site Fuel, CR, Lubricants and Commercial Fuel sales. SPAS is expected to have annual sales of 1 mln m3 with a total turnover of 50 bln TRY in 2025.

Experience and Qualifications required
10+ years of experience in statutory reporting and local GAAP.
Solid understanding of site systems such as site automation and Promaks.
Strong understanding of wet/dry stock control
Solid understanding of E2E data management and systems processes for billing & payments for CO
Experience in business finance or controlling
Mobility business knowledge is an asset
Quantitative skills and computer literacy
Driver’s License
Ability to extract data from the ERP in preparation for audits or project work.
Strong communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive issues
